Oklahoma City is set to welcome Chris Daniels as the new head honcho of the General Services Department. City Manager Craig Freeman announced Daniels' appointment, taking the reins from longtime director Paul Bronson, who's punching out after 38 years of service.

Daniels will begin transitioning into his new role on November 14 and will assume full responsibilities after Bronson retires on January 1, 2026. According to the City of Oklahoma City, Freeman highlighted Daniels’ skills and accomplishments in a statement.

"Chris is a results-driven manager and excels at building a work environment where employees feel valued and appreciated," Freeman was quoted as saying. The new gig has Daniels overseeing a crew of 77 across three divisions – you've got Administration, Fleet Services, and Building Maintenance. It's a significant step up from his days managing a warehouse and then as Streets Superintendent for the City since 2021.

Daniels came on board with the City of Oklahoma City after a diverse career path that had him helming Goodwill Industries and, later, riding with motorbike shops from Honda-Suzuki to Harley-Davidson World. On the academic front, the man is hitting the books for a Bachelor of Arts in Administrative Leadership at the University of Oklahoma. "Working for the City of Oklahoma City has exceeded my expectations in every possible way," Daniels told the City of Oklahoma City. "It is an honor and humbling to succeed Paul Bronson. I am excited to join a dynamic team and look forward to helping them continue their standards of excellence."

Daniels is married to Denise Daniels and has three adult children: Raegan, Olivia, and Avery, as well as a granddaughter, Annalise.
