Clark County Sheriff's Office has a new Sergeant in town, and his name is Rocky Futrell. In a recent post on their official social media channel, the department praised Sgt. Futrell for his steadfast progression through the ranks since joining CCSO back in 2013, following a disciplined tenure with the Marines.

Beginning his career in the Cadet Program and volunteering with Search and Rescue, Sgt. Futrell took his commitment to service seriously when he moved to the Jail in 2015 and subsequently made the jump to the Enforcement Branch in 2019. His journey has been characterized by versatility, having served in a myriad of roles within the agency. This same commitment has now positioned him to lead the department's UAS (drone) team, a favorite assignment of his, where he's seen up close the life-saving potential of emerging technology.

Sgt. Futrell is also connected to the larger drone community, as he serves with the Law Enforcement Drone Association’s Washington Chapter. His work and expertise in this field seem to not only benefit Clark County but also contribute to broader conversations on law enforcement and technology.

With an outlook focused on progress, Sgt. Futrell is set to "continue advancing technology within Clark County to make our work safer, smarter, and more efficient for the community," as he shared with his colleagues. His promotion not only acknowledges his past contributions but also anticipates his influential role in shaping the county’s technological adoptions in law enforcement. Beyond his professional endeavors, Sgt. Futrell embodies the Pacific Northwest spirit, cherishing time spent fishing, hunting, camping, and engaging with all that PNW nature has to offer. The sheriff's office invites the community to congratulate Sgt. Futrell on what is clearly a well-earned advancement.
