Clay County’s Board of County Commissioners met last week and shared updates for residents. At the October 28 meeting, the board talked about public safety and environmental projects. Key points from the meeting were posted on the Clay County website.
The county’s strategic plan focuses on public engagement and financial goals. Communications Director Laura Christmas highlighted nearly 12 million social media views. Financially, the county is more than halfway to its five-year goal of $100 million in grant funding. The full meeting recording, including the strategic plan presentation starting at 39:50, is available on the county’s website and Facebook page.
The Clay County commissioners unanimously approved a new site for the Public Safety Training Facility at the County’s Outdoor Adventure Park. Details of the discussion can be viewed starting at 2:10:32 in the meeting recording.
The Board also approved an amendment to Ordinance 2024-48, creating the Forests and Farms Conservation Lands Program Trust Fund. The ordinance is available with the meeting agenda, and the discussion can be viewed starting at 1:31:43 in the recording.
The commissioners also reappointed five members to the Middleburg/Clay Hill Citizens’ Advisory Committee and welcomed David Hough as a new member.
