Community efforts have once again proven their worth as the DeSoto Police Department confirmed the safe recovery of Perlina Lincoln, an 88-year-old Black woman with dementia who had been reported missing. In an update released by the DeSoto Police Department, authorities expressed their gratitude to the public, stating, "Ms.Lincoln has been found safe and is currently being reunited with her family. Thank you to all the citizens that provided valuable information."
Before this reassuring development, the DeSoto Police Department had issued an urgent plea for assistance, sharing details about Ms. Lincoln's last known whereabouts and description; missing since noon on the day of her disappearance from her home on the 600 block of Austin Drive, she was described as wearing glasses, a light-colored matching top and bottom, and carrying a green purse, Ms. Lincoln was also said to rely on a cane for mobility. Patrol Officer/Public Information Officer B.Green provided a recent picture of Ms. Lincoln and underscored the necessity of community action in the alert.
