A burro trapped in a cattle guard along Arizona’s I-40 frontage road was safely rescued last week thanks to the quick actions of community members and local authorities.
According to FOX 10 Phoenix, Mohave County Sheriff’s Office employee Frances Edwards and civilian Lorne Edwards discovered the burro on Saturady last week and immediately sought help. With no rescue agency available, Frances coordinated assistance through her own contacts.
After several hours of effort, a team made up of MCSO personnel and local volunteers freed the animal. The animal was able to leave the scene, sustaining only minor scrapes, according to 12 News.
The rescue team included MCSO’s Monique Cunnius and civilians Joshua Edwards, Jesse Damos, and Bret Montgomery
