A Dallas man, Randy Campbell, 31, is in custody after a fatal shooting in Jacksonville, Florida. The victim, 24-year-old Cherrish Nunley, was found dead last Saturday, in the parking lot of a local gym on Sunbeam Road. According to the Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office, Nunley died from her injuries before officers arrived at the scene.
Following an investigation by JSO Homicide detectives and the State Attorney’s Office, an anonymous tip through First Coast Crime Stoppers helped identify Randy Campbell as the suspect. Campbell was later apprehended by the U.S. Marshals Task Force with assistance from the Dallas Police Department. Efforts are ongoing to extradite him to Jacksonville to face charges in the homicide of Cherrish Nunley, as confirmed by the Medical Examiner’s Office.
Concerns about a possible serial killer in Jacksonville have circulated, but investigators stated that Randy Campbell is not connected to other recent homicides in the area. The Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office continues to investigate these cases.
