Memphis and nearby areas are experiencing dense fog this morning as the National Weather Service (NWS) Memphis issued a Dense Fog Advisory in effect until 9 AM CST today. The National Weather Service reported that visibility may drop to one quarter mile or less in some areas, affecting portions of East Arkansas, North Mississippi, Southeast Missouri, and West Tennessee. The agency cautioned that low visibility could make driving conditions hazardous.
Motorists are advised to drive slowly, use headlights, and maintain a safe distance from other vehicles. The advisory includes several cities such as Germantown, Marianna, Blytheville, Brownsville, Oxford, Memphis, and Tupelo. A complete list of affected areas is available on the National Weather Service website.
Current conditions in Memphis show a temperature of 56°F with 97% humidity, contributing to the fog and mist. The forecast indicates that skies will clear later in the day with a high near 73°F and light south-southwest winds. Tonight, the weather is expected to remain clear with a low around 45°F, as per the National Weather Service.
Sunny weather is expected through the upcoming week, with mild daytime temperatures and cooler nights. Tomorrow’s forecast predicts mostly sunny skies and wind gusts reaching up to 30 mph.
