The City of Denton is preparing to hold a public hearing to deliberate on a proposed ordinance that could pave the way for medium-impact manufacturing to secure a foothold in the community. Milo Insulation of Texas, LLC is seeking a Specific Use Permit (SUP) that will allow the company to develop approximately 4,500 square feet of manufacturing space on an 8.702-acre lot positioned west of Worthington Drive and south of the dead end on Schuyler Street, according to details obtained by the city's official notification.
With Tom Martin spearheading as the representative for Milo Insulation, the Council will scrutinize the proposal, which could also include an amendment to the City’s Official Zoning Map. In the maximum amount of $2,000.00, a penalty for violations of the ordinance is also being considered. Interested parties are encouraged to join the meeting slated for Tuesday, December 2, at 6:30 pm in the City Hall Council Chambers located at 215 E McKinney St in Denton, as reported by the City of Denton's official alert.
In accordance with the City Council's prerogative, residents can find solace in knowing that any proposal approved will at a minimum meet or surpass the requested restrictions, ensuring alignment with the intentions of the Denton 2040 Comprehensive Plan. This hearing represents a critical juncture in the city’s progress, marking either a stride towards industrial growth or a preservation of the status quo.
