A man lost his life last evening after he lost control of his vehicle and crashed into several trees along I-40 in Catawba County. According to a report by WCNC, the incident occurred near mile marker 130 around 8:07 p.m. The North Carolina State Highway Patrol indicated that a 1995 Honda Civic, navigating westbound, departed from the roadway's rightful edge and collided with multiple trees.
Following the accident, the driver, identified only as Xiong in initial reports, was transported to Catawba Valley Medical Center by emergency services. Given the scant information released, the question of why Xiong lost control of the car remains unanswered.
