The El Paso Community College (EPCC) Theatre is currently showcasing a production of Henrik Ibsen's 'A Doll's House', a classic play that delves into the themes of love, autonomy, and self-discovery. This event has drawn over 100 students from America and Eastwood High School to witness Nora Helmer's escalating introspection within the confines of her marriage and societal expectations, a narrative that has resonated with audiences since the late 19th century. According to EPCC News, the play is directed by Ted Karber Jr., and the invitation extends to various high school students, including those involved in Dual Credit, Early College High School, Theatre majors, and Advanced Placement programs.

Ted Karber Jr. expressed enthusiasm for the opportunity to showcase this production, "We've done this usually for our Fall show, where we invite the high school students for free, but this is a great production for students to see," he told EPCC News. Any school district is welcome to come. Many departments teach A Doll's House, so a lot like to come and see it, because the EPCC dedication has been great, so very excited for the students. The initiative demonstrates EPCC's commitment to cultivating the performing arts among youth and providing an enriching educational experience beyond the classroom.

Noelle Mullenix, Eastwood Theatre Technical Instructor, outlined the importance of such experiences, "We try to foster the experience of live theatre, and it's required to see 1-2 shows a semester, and this play is a classic, so I really wanted them to experience it," as mentioned by EPCC News. Mullenix's statement underscores live theatre's vital role in academic curriculum and the distinctive insights that students gain from watching a timeless piece like 'A Doll's House'.

Eastwood senior, Sofia Garcia, saw the production as both an inspiration and a glimpse into possible futures, "It's really exciting because it also shows me what I can do if I come to EPCC, and further my career in theatre," per EPCC News.

The play opened on November 14, and will run through November 23, 2025, with performances on Fridays and Saturdays at 7:00 p.m, and Sundays at 2:00 p.m. Hosted at the Transmountain Campus Forum Theatre in El Paso, Texas, the ticket prices are affordable at $6 for general admission and $5 for senior citizens, military, EPCC faculty, and staff. EPCC students benefit from one free ticket with a valid student ID. Tickets are obtainable at the Transmountain Cashier's Office from Monday through Friday and one hour before each show.
