A former apartment manager from San Jose has been caught in the snare of the law, accused of converting unsuspecting tenants' personal information into fraudulent credit cards. The Santa Clara County Sheriff's Office revealed on social media that Mariam Ahmadi, 51, has been arrested following an extensive search of her residence, which uncovered evidence of identity theft and drug possession.
During the operation, law enforcement seized not just methamphetamine but also multiple cell phones and a vast assortment of keys, hinting at the possibility of more widespread criminal activity. Ahmadi, who had been entrusted with the details of residents at Sandalwood Apartments and another complex on Fruitdale Avenue, seems to have grievously breached the trust placed in her by those she was supposed to serve. The investigation thus far suggests she may have been systematically exploiting tenant information to establish fake identities and lines of credit surreptitiously.
The Santa Clara County Sheriff's Office is now reaching out to the community, urging those who recognize Ahmadi or suspect that they have been affected by her actions to come forward.
