Fort Worth is raising the bar on nightlife safety and quality, and sixteen local establishments have just been spotlighted for leading the charge. The Nov. 4 City Council work session brought recognition to these trailblazers as the first participants in the Golden Lasso Accreditation Program—a free, voluntary initiative celebrating venues dedicated to a secure and enjoyable nightlife experience, per the City of Fort Worth.
The inaugural group making up the Golden Lasso roster includes an eclectic mix of nightlife spots: Ampersand, BAR 2909, Bodega West 7th, and Dirty Laundry, among others. The initiative not only marks these venues as bastions of safety in the city's vibrant after-dark scene but also challenges them to maintain and improve their commitment to patrons’ well-being. Each location received its spotlight for taking proactive steps toward “Safety-Branded Entertainment,” a concept at the heart of the accreditation's ambitions.
At its core, the Golden Lasso certification isn't just a plaque on the wall. It's a promise to Fort Worth's residents and visitors that their night out is backed by high safety standards and responsible service. The program nudges bars, restaurants, and other venues—particularly those holding a Texas Alcoholic Beverage Commission license—toward stronger policies and staff training aimed at reducing alcohol-related incidents and fostering a positive community atmosphere.
