Early Monday morning, a construction worker was seriously injured in a hit-and-run on Interstate 95 in Foxborough, Massachusetts while retrieving a sign around 2:15 a.m. Massachusetts State Police quickly responded, providing first aid and applying a tourniquet to control severe bleeding from his right leg.

"He was conscious and alert when we got there. He had a significant injury to his right leg, I believe it was, mostly the ankle and the foot. Tourniquet was applied by state police — they did a great job with controlling the bleeding — and then our paramedics transferred him to our stretcher and transported to Boston Medical Center," said Foxborough Fire Department Capt. Colin Sweeney, according to WCVB. A passenger-side mirror, believed to be from the suspect's vehicle, was found at the scene, and the crash remains under investigation.
