Residents and visitors of Frisco planning their Thanksgiving week should take note of the altered holiday hours for city services and facilities. According to a recent announcement by the City of Frisco, all administrative offices at City Hall and Municipal Court will be closed on November 27, Thanksgiving Day, and the following Friday, November 28. These services will resume their regular schedules starting Monday, December 1.
Thanksgiving closures also extend to the Frisco Public Library and Connection at Stonebriar Centre, which will remain closed from November 27 through November 30. However, for those needing to return books, the drive-thru book return behind the main library's building will remain open. The Frisco Fire Safety Town, including the Central Fire Administrative Offices, will observe the holiday by closing on November 27 and 28, reopening on December 1.
For those seeking to maintain their fitness routine during the holiday, the Frisco Athletic Center will adjust its hours before the Thanksgiving break. As posted online, the general facility will operate from 5 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Wednesday, November 26, and will be closed on Thanksgiving Day itself. It will reopen on November 28 with limited hours from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.
Other cultural landmarks in Frisco, such as the Frisco Heritage Center and the Frisco Discovery Center, will also be impacted. The Heritage Center will close its doors on both Thanksgiving Day and the day after, not resuming standard operating hours until Tuesday, December 2. The Discovery Center will shut down on Thanksgiving Day, but will be back in business from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. on November 28. The website suggests checking with tenant partners for their respective schedules, which may vary.
The Grove at Frisco Commons, a popular gathering space, will not be available from November 27 through November 29, as confirmed by the same source, with activities resuming on Monday, December 1. Residents should also plan for changes in trash collection and curbside recycling services. There will be no collections on Thanksgiving Day. Instead, Thursday's services will shift to Friday, and Friday's services will move to Saturday. Schedules from Monday to Wednesday will not be impacted by the holiday.
Finally, the Environmental Collection Center and Environmental Services Offices will observe an extended break from November 27 to November 30, as per the release. These services will restart on Monday, December 1. During this period, any droppings off without an attendant are considered illegal dumping, a reminder that might help prevent potential fines or inconveniences.
