"Construction is quickly progressing," the City of Garland noted, offering residents insights into these eagerly awaited amenities.
At the heart of the city, Fire Station 1, located at 427 Allen St., is seeing the concrete blocks of its storm shelter erected, a visual marker of the project's ascent from concept to reality it has reached a key stage with crews finishing the laying of concrete blocks for its storm shelter while progress on other structural elements like the dumpster pad and parking area piers strides on. According to the City of Garland, "Crews have begun laying concrete blocks for the storm shelter, marking a key milestone in the project’s vertical build." Meanwhile, Fire Station 7 at 1910 Pleasant Valley Road isn't far behind, with two paving sections for the fire lane recently completed and masonry work on the east demising wall breaking new ground.
The city's aquatic ambition, Surf & Swim at 440 W. Oates Road, also shows significant headway with the exterior walls' stone cladding and insulation system complete. Workers are currently laying the groundwork for future water attractions, including drilling and pouring concrete piers for water slides and bolstering the Surf Rider foundation.
