Georgia has launched a Risk Limiting Audit (RLA) for the November 4, Public Service Commission Special Election. The audit, ordered by the Secretary of State under SEB Rule 183-1-15-.04, aims to verify the accuracy of the election results.
According to the Clayton County website, the audit began today, at the Clayton County Board of Registration and Elections Office, located in the Historic Courthouse on S. McDonough Street in Jonesboro. The process starts at 9:00 a.m. and will continue until completion or until Monday next week at 5:00 p.m. The public is invited to observe the proceedings. The contest selected for review has been published on the Secretary of State’s official website.
A Risk Limiting Audit compares a sample of paper ballots with digital tallies to confirm that machine-tabulated results accurately reflect voter intent. This process is part of Georgia’s ongoing efforts to maintain election integrity and transparency.
