After a fatal crash in Gilbert that killed a rideshare driver, her passenger, and her dog, 35-year-old Robb Hintzsche was arrested. Gilbert Police reported that his blood alcohol level was .287, well above Arizona’s legal limit of 0.08.
On September 19, Robb Hintzsche reportedly ran a red light and collided with Nicole Snell’s vehicle, causing it to spin into a traffic pole. Snell, a 36-year-old Lyft driver, her 33-year-old passenger Marisa Jorgenson, and Snell’s dog, Bellini, were all pronounced dead at the scene. FOX 10 Phoenix reported that Hintzsche was allegedly driving between 89 and 96 mph in a 45 mph zone. He was hospitalized after the crash and released on Thanksgiving Day, when he was arrested.
Hintzsche now faces multiple serious charges, including two counts of second-degree murder, three counts of felony endangerment, and animal cruelty. In a statement obtained by AZ Family, Gilbert PD spokesperson Brenda Carrasco expressed condolences to the families of Nicole Snell and Marisa Jorgenson. She noted the case as a reminder of the serious consequences of drinking and driving.
