The Gwinnett Justice and Administration Center will glow green from November 4 to 11 as part of Operation Green Light for Veterans, an initiative honoring military service members. Chairwoman Nicole Love Hendrickson, who is leading the effort, stated, “Participating in Operation Green Light is one way we let our veterans know that we see them,” according to the Gwinnett County.

Residents, businesses, and organizations are encouraged to join by replacing regular bulbs with green ones to show gratitude for veterans’ courage and dedication. The weeklong commemoration will open with a proclamation presentation at 2 p.m. on Tuesday and conclude with free events on November 11, as reported by the Gwinnett County.

Gwinnett County will hold Veterans Day events starting with the Veterans Day Ceremony from 11 a.m. to noon at the Fallen Heroes Memorial, followed by Nicole Love Hendrickson’s Gwinnett County Stand Down, which provides resources and services to veterans and their families. Registration for the Stand Down is suggested but not required. The 20th anniversary of the Gwinnett Veterans Memorial Museum will take place from 3 p.m. to 6 p.m. at the Gwinnett Historic Courthouse for adults 21 and older, and registration is required. The county is also participating in Operation Green Light, a national program to raise awareness of veterans’ challenges and available support.
