Rebecca Park, a 38-week pregnant woman from Cadillac who disappeared on November 3, is believed to have been found dead in the Manistee National Forest, pending autopsy confirmation. She was last seen getting into a dark-colored vehicle outside a relative’s home. Her cellphone was later found discarded along a remote road, and she had received a $2,000 inheritance on the day she went missing, according to ClickOnDetroit.
In a statement following the discovery, Wexford County Sheriff Trent Taylor stated, "It's a tragic time in our county, and hopefully this brings some closure to this awful incident," as reported by FOX 2 Detroit. With the case remaining active and an ongoing investigation, the sheriff's office has not made any arrests related to the incident on Tuesday.
Park's fiancé Richard Falor and her sister Kimberly Park have been taken into custody at the Wexford County Jail, with their arraignment set on Wednesday at 1:30 p.m., as per WWMT. The connections to the case and potential charges have not been released. Officials have not confirmed whether a baby was involved, and the autopsy to confirm the identity of the deceased has not been scheduled on Wednesday.
