In Highlands County, there's a reason to celebrate; not just for their idyllic scenery, but for the individuals who bring the county's happenings into the public eye. Last week, the Highlands County Board of County Commissioners gave a nod of appreciation to the hard-working public information officers (PIOs) by proclaiming from last Saturday until tomorrow, as Public Information Officers Week, according to a social media post from the Sebring Police Department.
But the honors didn't stop there. The City of Sebring and Mayor Shoop decided to also shine a spotlight on one PIO in particular: Hannah Tucker. During a ceremony that was likely to be both humbling and proud, Mayor Shoop declared on Tuesday, as "Hannah Tucker Day." This was in recognition of Tucker's accomplishments since her appointment as the City of Sebring’s Public Information Officer – a tenure which has seen a significant growth in the city's digital sphere.
Ms. Tucker's work hasn't gone unnoticed. It was Sebring Police Department's account that conveyed, "Hannah has done an incredible job since being appointed as the City of Sebring’s Public Information Officer. Her efforts have greatly increased the City’s digital presence, and her passion and dedication is evident in everything she does." They also expressed a deep sense of pride for her recognition and a sincere thanks for her "service and dedication."
