For those of you in Honolulu, bracing yourself against the brisk island winds, you can expect them to persist throughout today. According to the National Weather Service, the breezy conditions will gradually weaken as the weekend approaches, transitioning into more manageable, light breezes. Islanders should look out for showers primarily concentrated over windward and mauka areas, but don't be surprised if some of those showers make their way into leeward spots too.
Friday will be dry, but rain may return on Saturday, especially on the Big Island.
Flying conditions are mostly good, though clouds and showers may cause some lower visibility over windward and mauka areas. Small Craft Advisories are in effect for boaters, but winds and seas should ease by Saturday.
Surf is high today on north and west-facing shores but should ease by the weekend. Fire danger is low for the forecast period.
The strong winds from the high-pressure system will ease tonight, so the weekend should be calmer.
High Surf and Winter Weather Advisories are in effect until noon today for parts of the islands, including Niihau, Kauai Leeward, and Big Island summits. Stay prepared and enjoy the conditions safely.
