The Honolulu Police Department has arrested a suspect in the case of 55-year-old Jonnaven Monalim, who was reported missing and later found dead from gunshot wounds in Waipiʻo. The suspect was taken into custody on Wednesday by HPD’s strategic enforcement and crime reduction units, according to KITV
After obtaining a Warrant of Arrest, approved by a judge setting the suspect’s bail at $1,000,000, charges are expected to be filed with the Department of the Prosecuting Attorney. Monalim, initially reported missing last Friday, was later found deceased, having been dead for several hours. KHON2 reports that Monalim, a government informant, had been reported missing last Wednesday, though details surrounding the circumstances of his death and the evidence leading to the suspect’s arrest have not been released.
Local authorities arrested a suspect in connection with Monalim's murder on Wednesday at 8 a.m. in Waipahu, executing a warrant issued the previous day, HPD said. The suspect faces a $1 million bail, though official charges have not been announced. Details surrounding the events leading to Monalim's death remain largely undisclosed, with investigations ongoing, as confirmed by KITV and KHON2.
