James H.C. "Jamey" Steen has been appointed to the Texas Historical Commission, a position he will hold until February 1, 2027. A Houston resident and partner at Buckhorn Resources, L.P., Steen has extensive community involvement and historically-focused memberships. His affiliations include life memberships in the Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo, the Texas Southwest Cattle Raisers Association, Eagle Scout recognition, and the Sons of the Republic of Texas, as reported by the Office of the Texas Governor.
Steen, a University of Virginia graduate with a Bachelor of Arts in Foreign Affairs, has been appointed to a commission that manages historical data and coordinates the preservation of Texas’s historical and archeological sites. He also serves as a trustee of the San Jacinto Museum and Battlefield Association, as stated by the Office of the Texas Governor.
