An immediate response by Issaquah Police Department officers to a domestic violence call resulted in an arrest. As reported in a recent social media post from the Issaquah Police Department, the call involved a horrifying event wherein the dispatchers could hear screams and a plea to "Stop!" before the disconnection of the line. Arriving at the scene, officers discovered a shattered door and a chaotic interior, though the house was empty. The return of the victim shortly afterwards filled in the puzzle, telling police about an ex-partner's violent break-in and assault.
Describing a tale of continuous abuse, the victim admitted the ex-partner's acts extended beyond this incident, including threats and violence that were never reported due to fear of retaliation. Despite the prior silence, the officers' swift intervention, paired with assistance from Kent Police Department, led to the suspect's apprehension on the same day. While kicking down a door, the suspect was caught in the act, according to the Issaquah Police Department's statement.
Multiple felony charges now face the suspect, encompassing residential burglary, fourth-degree assault, malicious mischief – all noted as domestic violence (DV) – interfering with the reporting of domestic violence, and exposing a child to domestic violence.
Vital contact points for assistance were provided, including the National Domestic Violence Hotline at 1-800-799-7233 and the Washington State Domestic Violence Hotline at 1-800-562-6025. The victim's decision to share their experience was vital in identifying the suspect, highlighted the Issaquah Police Department's post.
