Over 175 educators from Duval County have been nominated for the 2026 VyStar Duval County Teacher of the Year. The Jacksonville Public Education Fund (JPEF) will host the EDDY Awards on January 24, 2026, to honor the winning teacher, as per the Duval County Public Schools website.
The program begins with each school submitting their top educators. A selection committee then narrows the nominees to 15 semifinalists, then five finalists, before the Teacher of the Year is announced at the gala at the Hyatt Regency.
Nominees are recognized for their contributions to student learning and have opportunities to participate in JPEF’s teacher leadership initiatives. The full list of nominees is available on the Duval County Public Schools website.
