The Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office is seeking public assistance after a theft at a Southside retail store on River City Drive. On October 14, two individuals, described by JSO as “budget ballers,” reportedly stole more than $2,000 in NBA trading cards. Surveillance footage captured the suspects bypassing the checkout and exiting the store through an emergency door, according to a social media post by the department.
In a social media post published today, the JSO shared details of the incident. According to the department's Facebook post, “They moved with the confidence of first-round draft picks, grabbing over $2,000 worth of trading cards like they were building their dream roster.”
Anyone with information is encouraged to contact the Sheriff's Office at 904-630-0500 or submit tips anonymously to First Coast Crime Stoppers at 1-866-845-TIPS. The department noted that tips leading to an arrest could result in a monetary reward.
