King County Fire District No. 37 is on the lookout for a new commissioner to fill Position #1 on their Board, as was announced in a recent social media post by Puget Sound Fire.
According to the Puget Sound Fire Facebook post, District 37 resident Pat Sullivan has been nominated for the commissioner vacancy; however, additional nominations are welcome until November 17, 2025, at 1:00 pm, showing community involvement matters to this process, as the Board of Commissioners encourages District-registered voters to participate. The selection for a new commissioner will be made at a special meeting on the same day. Serving as the board of directors for the fire district, commissioners also hold seats on the Puget Sound Regional Fire Authority Governance Board.
Candidates are required to be registered voters living within the district boundaries. A call to civic duty, the board emphasizes that candidates are stepping into a role that serves the community. An application form must be submitted before the deadline as specified by Puget Sound Fire.
The website pugetsoundfire.org gives interested individuals the information they need to apply, a helpful pointer for those looking to contribute to the stewardship and guidance of King County's emergency services, as this is a chance to have a direct impact on how fire services are administered and how they can adapt to meet the needs of the community they serve.
