Thanksgiving in Knoxville was a time of community and charity, as locals came together to support those in need. Knoxville Area Rescue Ministries (KARM) hosted its 39th annual Thanksgiving celebration, welcoming individuals who might otherwise be without warmth and companionship on the holiday. According to WATE, the organization served approximately 300 meals across two lunch seatings. More than 100 volunteers helped prepare and serve food, which included a large donation from Rothchild Catering and festive floral centerpieces provided by Random Acts of Flowers.

One volunteer tradition, as noted by WVLT, involves a local family that spends every Thanksgiving giving back before starting their own celebration. "This has been a family tradition for us. The event was not just about the food but also involved activities like games and a Thanksgiving Day Parade watch party at the KARM center.

Meanwhile, in Scott County, RaeZack's Grill and Deli marked a milestone by serving free Thanksgiving meals to over 1,000 individuals, setting a new record for their annual tradition, which began in 2019. One volunteer, Paula Bridges, arranged her family's Thanksgiving dinner earlier in the month in order to be able to serve the community on the day. "I think that as an individual and as a Christian, this is exactly what we're supposed to do," Bridges told WBIR
