The City of Knoxville is moving forward with its Bicycle Facilities Plan and has entered a new phase seeking input from residents on cycling infrastructure. The updated plan focuses on addressing gaps in existing bike paths. According to a recent social media post by the City of Knoxville – Government, this phase follows an earlier round of community feedback collected through a public meeting and an online survey.

Residents interested in Knoxville’s cycling infrastructure are invited to the next public meeting on December 2, from 4:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m., with a presentation scheduled for 5 p.m. Attendees will have the opportunity to review survey results and learn about the methodology used to develop the proposed network.

According to the City of Knoxville, “We’ll review public comments received from the survey and the methodology being used to create the proposed network included in the plan.” The meeting provides a chance for residents to participate in the planning process.

This effort is part of Vision Zero Knoxville, an initiative focused on eliminating traffic fatalities and serious injuries while promoting safe and equitable mobility for all. Bike Walk Knoxville, a local advocacy group, has played a role in advocating for improved bicycle facilities.
