Miguel Adrian Gonzalez, a 28-year-old CEO of the L.A.-based childcare company Let's Play LA LLC, has been indicted on multiple child sexual exploitation charges. Gonzalez, who also offered services as a camp counselor and private babysitter, has been accused of using his authority to exploit children in his care. According to the U.S. Attorney's Office, following his arrest on October 28, Gonzalez is currently held in federal custody, with no bond permitted.
The indictment against Gonzalez includes two counts of obtaining custody of a minor with the intent to produce child pornography and seven counts of production of child pornography, among other charges, as reported by the U.S. Attorney's Office. Between 2021 and 2025, Gonzalez allegedly engaged in creating and distributing explicit images of minors under his supervision, as well as having inappropriate physical contact with at least one child. In one instance, a disturbing act of exploitation involved Gonzalez texting parents to offer his babysitting services to two 6-year-old boys, thereafter creating child sexual abuse material (CSAM).
The use of social media platforms like Snapchat and Telegram has been highlighted in the charges, with Gonzalez accused of trafficking CSAM through these mediums. Confirming the graveness of these accusations, authorities found two iPhones in Gonzalez's possession that contained explicit images and videos, involving some of the six minors he oversaw, detailed in a news update from KTLA.
Gonzalez faces a mandatory minimum of 30 years to a potential life sentence in federal prison if convicted of the charges against him. Adding to the severity of the case, the Los Angeles County District Attorney’s Office has also filed a felony child sexual exploitation crime charge in relation to said matter. Homeland Security Investigations and the Los Angeles Police Department are collectively handling the investigation into these disturbing allegations, which have prompted deep concerns and outrage within the community.
