U.S. Customs and Border Protection is encouraging noncitizen travelers to submit their I-94 travel permit applications online ahead of the busy holiday season at the Laredo Port of Entry. Port Director Albert Flores noted, "Over the last few years we have observed an incremental increase in traffic and CBP management staff and frontline officers at Laredo Port of Entry plan accordingly to be able to facilitate these seasonal traffic increases while maintaining our enforcement posture," according to the U.S. Customs and Border Protection.
Travelers who complete the I-94 application online receive a provisional permit and can use front-of-the-line privileges upon arrival. CBP is also offering a Mobile Enrollment Center at the Outlet Shoppes at Laredo, open from November 16 through January 24, 2026, with daily operating hours for added convenience, as reported by the U.S. Customs and Border Protection.
U.S. Customs and Border Protection provides a Border Wait Times app with hourly updates to help travelers choose the fastest bridge. The Colombia-Solidarity Bridge can be used as an alternative during heavy traffic, and extra lanes may open near the Juarez-Lincoln Bridge. Travelers with agricultural items must declare them, and the “Know Before You Go” guide on the CBP website lists restricted items.
