The streets of Las Vegas were under tight surveillance over the past weekend as a collaborative DUI blitz was enforced by law enforcement agencies in an effort to curb impaired driving, the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department reported. According to a social media post from the LVMPD, the crackdown involved officers from the Bolden Area Command, Downtown Area Command, the Traffic Bureau, LVMPD 911 Communications, Nevada State Police Troopers, and a phlebotomist.
The blitz led to a total of 83 citations and 23 DUI arrests, marking a significant push against driving under the influence; in addition, three other arrests were made for undisclosed reasons as law enforcement agents combed the streets, worked in tandem, sharing the singular mission to protect and serve by removing impaired drivers from the road – a mission that remains crucial to ensuring public safety. "One selfish decision can kill. Don't drive impaired," the LVMPD reminded the public in its briefing of the operation's outcome.
