The Nevada State Veterans Memorial, honoring U.S. military service from the Revolutionary War to the present, will be relocated to the Thunderbird Family Sports Complex at 6105 N. Durango Drive in Las Vegas. The memorial includes 18 statues, each 7.5 feet tall, created by sculptor Douwe Blumberg and originally displayed at the Grant Sawyer Building, as reported by the City of Las Vegas.
The City of Las Vegas announced the move on social media, noting the memorial’s new location within a community sports complex. The relocation is intended to make the statues more accessible while continuing to honor Nevada’s veterans.
According to the City of Las Vegas on their X account, the city plans to relocate and install a military memorial at the Thunderbird Family Sports Complex. The timeline and details of the unveiling have not been announced. Each statue will represent a key era in military history.
With respect and gratitude, we honor all veterans who have served our country in the armed forces.
