Lewisville's local homeowners interested in sprucing up their digs or fostering community spirit might want to take advantage of upcoming city-sponsored workshops offering insight into a trove of grant opportunities. According to a notice posted on the City of Lewisville's website, the next instructional session is on the calendar for Tuesday, Dec. 2 at 6:30 p.m. at the Castle Hills Community Center, with a deadline to register by Nov. 30.
These workshops aim to provide attendees with the knowledge to navigate various city grant programs such as the Property Enhancement Program, Love Your Block, and the Neighborhood Enhancement Program. In a detail shared by the City of Lewisville's announcement, the Property Enhancement Program offers a financial grant-rebate to assist with exterior home repairs, where eligible applicants and projects may receive a 50 percent matching grant-rebate, maxing at a certain dollar threshold.
The Love Your Block initiative, an open year-round opportunity, empowers residents with a $500 reimbursable mini-grant for local neighborhood betterment. Activities like throwing a neighborhood party, cleaning up vacant lots, or creating green spaces are all plausible uses of this grant. On the other hand, the Neighborhood Enhancement Program supports larger-scale endeavors, matching grants up to $12,500 for groups aspiring to bring aesthetic and functional improvements to their neighborhoods.
