In response to the rising concerns over public safety, the Lewisville Police Department is extending a crucial learning opportunity to the community with the upcoming Civilian Response to Active Shooter Events (C.R.A.S.E.) Training. This event, intended to instruct attendees on how to act during an unthinkable crisis, will be held on Saturday, November 22, from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. at the Tittle McFadden Public Safety Center located at 1187 W Main St.
The session comes at no cost and is accessible to all adults, 18 years and older. Lewisville PD’s own Certified Trainers will be conducting the event, imparting key strategies on how to "be aware, make quick decisions, and stay safe" in the event of an active shooter situation. The announcement received from the Lewisville PD's Facebook post confirms that no registration is required for those wishing to attend.
With the frequency of these distressing incidents not showing any signs of waning, organizations have recognized the need to prepare civilians for worst-case scenarios. This proactive measure by the Lewisville Police Department aims to empower residents with the tools for self-preservation, potentially bridging the gap between victim and survivor when every second counts.
