According to an alert from the Los Angeles Fire Department, the fire was reported at 11:53 AM at a three-story building located at 1408 S Wilton Pl. The structure, described as a garden style apartment with two residential floors above a parking garage, showed smoke emerging from the second floor as units arrived on the scene. LAFD officials reported firefighters went into offensive mode to tackle the fire.
The fire, which was described by the department as a small contents fire in an apartment on the second floor, was knocked down within 12 minutes. With the flames contained, the LAFD conducted primary and secondary searches of the building, confirming that there were no injuries to civilians or firefighters. No smoke was shown by residents evacuating the building.
