In a sequence of incidents that underscores the vulnerability of everyday activities, a series of thefts and burglaries were reported, including an instance on November 13, where at around 1:41 p.m., a victim's credit cards, cellphone, and AirPods were purloined from her unattended purse in the 800 block of 9 Street and later that same day at approximately 4:01 p.m., two juveniles were caught stealing clothes from a retail store on N. Sepulveda Boulevard, in both cases the police were swift to respond according to the official report.
The MBPD's crime summary also recounted a break-in on November 14 where perpetrators made off with jewelry and personal items after ransacking a residence on Palm Avenue; this was disclosed alongside other burglaries such as the incident on the evening of November 19, where a homeowner returned to discover their Elm Avenue home had been invaded, signified by a glaringly lit upstairs room and a shattered sliding door, culminating in the theft of a watch.
