
Fort Bend County has a new judge taking the bench in the 502nd Judicial District Court. Governor Greg Abbott has made the appointment of Mark Hanna, a move that sets Hanna in the role beginning December 1, 2025, as reported by the Governor's office. A term that is not long but is crucial, Hanna will serve until the end of 2026, with the expectation that a successor will follow duly elected and qualified.
Hanna comes to this position with a solid background as the associate judge of the 458th Judicial District Court and is known for his involvement in the legal community; he holds board certification in criminal law from the Texas Board of Legal Specialization, serving the State Bar of Texas in earnest, his practice has been deep and varied and is now set to embody this new role, according to an official announcement.
His qualifications are rounded out by educational credentials that include a Bachelor of Science in Criminal Justice from Texas State University and a Juris Doctor from South Texas College of Law Houston. Outside of the courtroom, Hanna engages with his community through the Exchange Club of Fort Bend and actively participates in his local congregation at River Point Church.
