In recognition of those who have served in the armed forces, the Mesquite Police Department in Texas took to social media to honor military veterans for their contributions both in and out of uniform. On Veterans Day, a post on the Mesquite Police Department’s Facebook page expressed gratitude to former service members for their service and continuing devotion to the community.
"Today, we honor all who have served in the United States Military. The Mesquite Police Department proudly recognizes our nation’s veterans, men and women who answered the call to defend freedom and continue to serve their communities with the same courage and commitment," the Mesquite Police Department shared. Highlighting a common trajectory, the post noted that many of their officers began their careers in the United States Armed Forces and now uphold their sense of duty within the city as its protectors.
The message went on to honor the discipline and sacrifice exemplified by these individuals, stating, Their sense of duty, discipline, and sacrifice exemplify what it means to serve something greater than oneself. This ethos of service was attributed not only to their time in the military but also to their current roles in law enforcement.
