A Middleburg man has been taken into custody following a child exploitation probe by the Clay County Sheriff's Office. The 64-year-old suspect, identified as Shawn Owen Cirignano, faces allegations involving child sexual abuse material, with a bond set at $1 million. The arrest was made after detectives received several tips pointing to the suspect's involvement in the illegal activity.
On November 19, 2025, the county's SWAT team executed both a search and arrest warrant at Cirignano's residence on Quarterhorse Trail. According to a social media post from the Clay County Sheriff's Office, Florida, the suspect was charged with 10 counts of knowingly possessing and intentionally viewing sexually explicit material involving minors. The Clay County Internet Crimes Against Children (ICAC) Unit was pivotal, in leading the investigation, with support from the Northeast Florida INTERCEPT Task Force, Homeland Security Investigations (HSI), and the Flagler County Sheriff's Office.

The ICAC Unit’s swift response underscores law enforcement’s commitment to combat this disturbing issue. Cirignano, whose date of birth is reported as April 3, 1961, is currently held at the Clay County Jail as the investigation continues.
