
The City of Milton has received national recognition from the International City/County Management Association (ICMA), earning the title of “National Champion” for its efforts in fostering trust in government. According to details shared at ICMA’s annual conference and reported by the City of Milton, the award was based on citizen feedback collected through the National Community Survey.
Milton was selected from a group of finalists representing Virginia, Illinois, New Mexico, and Pennsylvania. The city was recognized for its transparency, accessibility of information, service quality, and community engagement. City Manager Steve Krokoff stated that the recognition reflects the trust residents place in the city’s leadership, noting that it resulted from consistent efforts over the years, as cited by the City of Milton.
In addition to the main award, Milton was also named a Top Performer in the areas of Safety, Economy, Community Design, and Trust in Government. Mayor Peyton Jamison credited city employees and residents for their collaboration, according to the City of Milton.
