The search for 71-year-old Eugene Sturdivant, which began after he was reported missing on Tuesday, has ended on a positive note. The Tennessee Bureau of Investigation confirmed through a social media update that Sturdivant has been located and is safe.

The missing person's alert, known as a #TNSilverAlert, was initially issued by the Memphis Police Department when Eugene was last seen in the area of Marechalneil Street in Memphis, wearing an olive green sweater, black pants, white shoes, and a green cap. It was noted that Eugene has a medical condition that could impair his ability to safely return without assistance. The TBI and local residents were urged to quickly spread the word and to be on the lookout for Sturdivant.

In a follow-up post, the Tennessee Bureau of Investigation expressed gratitude towards those who shared the information regarding Eugene's disappearance, implying that the public's efforts were crucial in locating him. "Thank you for sharing!" the TBI posted.

Community members were initially instructed to report any sightings or information to the Memphis Police Department at 901-545-2677 or to the TBI at 1-800-TBI-FIND. The TBI’s Silver Alert program — designed for time-sensitive cases involving at-risk individuals — once again demonstrated its effectiveness. To support these efforts, the TBI encourages the public to use the TBI Find App at tbi.pub/TBIFindApp, which provides helpful resources and enhances community safety.
