Relief swept through the community as the Fort Worth Police Department announced via social media that the 77-year-old Walter Earl Nelson, who had been missing since last Wednesday, had been safely located. The news, shared with the public on their Facebook page, comes after a week of uncertainty and concerted efforts to find the senior citizen. "He has been located, Thank you!!" was the simple yet significant update posted by the Fort Worth Police Department.
Before being found, Nelson was last seen in the 4100 block of Cherokee Trail in Fort Worth, TX. Described as a white male with gray hair and blue eyes, he was said to be about 5'11" tall, weighing 190 pounds. Unfortunately, wearing a blue button-up shirt and blue jeans at the time of his disappearance, there were concerns that he may be lost and in potential danger. This prompted the police to ask for the public's assistance, issuing a call-to-action for anyone with information to reach out to assist in Nelson's recovery.
The Fort Worth community was urged to keep an eye out for Nelson, and the police department facilitated this by sharing his description widely across various platforms. The public was asked to report any sightings to the Fort Worth Police at 817-392-4222, and his details were also entered into the Texas Crime Information Center and the National Crime Information Center databases to aid in the search.
