At a recent press event, Missouri's top legal officer, Catherine Hanaway, lauded the state's first responders, while marking the remarkable alliance between BackStoppers and FanDuel in anticipation of the 38th annual Budweiser Guns ‘N Hoses boxing exhibition. According to a statement released by the Attorney General's office, Hanaway celebrated the event as a "symbol of St. Louis' loyalty, compassion, and community."
BackStoppers, recognized for providing financial aid to the families of service members lost in the line of duty, has extended support to over 180 families to date. “For nearly four decades, Guns ‘N Hoses has been more than a boxing match; it’s a symbol of St. Louis’ loyalty, compassion, and community,” Attorney General Hanaway highlighted in the Missouri Attorney General Office released statement. The Guns ‘N Hoses event has been pivotal in fundraising for this cause, an effort grown tangibly stronger with FanDuel's entry as a significant sponsor, seeming to tirelessly amplify the support for these families.
During her speech, the Attorney General underscored the continuous need for partnerships between the community and corporations. She specifically acknowledged FanDuel’s remarkable contribution, suggesting, “FanDuel’s partnership demonstrates the power of national companies investing in local heroes, proof that when communities and businesses unite behind a cause, everyone benefits,” as mentioned on the Missouri Attorney General Office website. The synergy between such partnerships stands as a testimony to the wider effects of corporate investment in local welfare.
The upcoming Guns ‘N Hoses event, set for November 26, 2025, at the Enterprise Center, is not only a sports occasion but a community rallying point with proceeds going directly to The BackStoppers, Inc. “First responders are the best of us,” Attorney General Hanaway stated. “Our police officers, firefighters, and EMS workers risk their lives every day to make Missouri safer. I’m proud to stand alongside them, and proud of every Missourian who supports this incredible cause,” according to the Missouri Attorney General Office.
