
A high-speed motorcycle crash in Culver City has claimed the life of an adult rider early Saturday morning. According to KTLA, the incident occurred around 1:15 a.m. near Washington Boulevard and Kensington Avenue, where Culver City police and fire departments responded to a report of an unconscious motorcyclist lying in the parkway area.
Upon arrival, officers found the victim and commenced life-saving measures before transferring the individual to a local hospital, where they were later pronounced dead. The preliminary investigation by police suggests the motorcyclist was traveling eastbound at a high rate of speed and lost control, leading to an ejection from the bike and a fatal impact. The tragedy did not involve any other vehicles. The identity of the motorcyclist has not been released as authorities await family notification.
Parking enforcement officers aided with traffic control during the hours-long road closure that ensued. An alert was sent to the community regarding the closure of eastbound Washington Boulevard between Inglewood Boulevard and McLaughlin Avenue. The Culver City Police Department later issued a follow-up alert notifying that the roadway had reopened around 6:45 a.m.
