The Public Works Committee of New Orleans has paved the way for the redevelopment of Lincoln Beach by endorsing a multi-million dollar contract for professional services. On Tuesday, the committee passed a recommendation for a Professional Services Agreement between the city and Digital Engineering and Imaging, Inc., as reported by the city council's website. This agreement covers engineering and construction management services critical to the revival of the historic lakeside attraction.
The Council is set to review a three-year contract totaling $1,946,477.75 as part of the 2026 Proposed Budget Hearings. Funding for the project comes from bond funds designated for the redevelopment effort, which is moving from the design phase toward the start of construction, as per the NOLA City Council.
The city has allocated nearly $2 million for a project to restore and improve a historically significant area. The Public Works Committee has recommended moving forward, with the funding coming from bond funds. The project still requires approval through upcoming budget hearings and other municipal processes.
