In the coming week, North Carolina's labor sector turns its eyes toward an important gathering aimed at shaping the future of workplace safety. Labor Commissioner Luke Farley is set to chair a pivotal meeting of the Occupational Safety and Health (OSH) Advisory Council. Scheduled for Monday, November 17, the assembly will commence at 10 a.m. at the NCDOL Lake Boone Trail Office in Raleigh, as reported by the North Carolina Department of Labor.
The council, a brain trust of 11 members is comprised of professionals from various sectors, including three representatives each from management and labor, alongside five members drawn from the public sector. The body exists to provide advice, consultation, and to make recommendations to the Commissioner on the administration of the state's OSH Act. They are the shepherds tasked with the advisement on policies that potentially impact every laborer within the state's borders.
For those with vested interests in the arenas of workplace safety and regulation, the meeting signals an opportunity to be involved in the dialogue. It is an in-person event, open to anyone looking to attend and witness the proceedings firsthand. Professionals and the general public alike stand to be affected by the discussions that will transpire within the walls of the 2nd Floor Training Room, located at 3801 Lake Boone Trail.
