During Thanksgiving, the Arizona International Auto Show in Phoenix drew large crowds at the Phoenix Convention Center. According to FOX 10 Phoenix, many visitors chose to attend the event to see the latest cars instead of traditional holiday activities.
Local attendees like Tom Russon and his son have made visiting the auto show a yearly tradition. “Every year since he was about five or six years old,” Russon said, according to FOX 10 Phoenix. The show features a variety of vehicles, including luxury cars in the Penske Luxury Salon, as well as custom lowriders and modified vehicles from local clubs.
For car buyers, the auto show provides information during a challenging time for the industry. “IIt's a tough time to be a car buyer, I would say, honestly. Prices, the average transaction price is over $50,000. Interest rates are a little high,” said Jason Fogelson, managing editor of Kelley Blue Book, in an interview with FOX 10 Phoenix. However, many vehicles now come with advanced safety features, which can benefit buyers.
The auto show runs through Sunday, with hours from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Thursday and Sunday, and 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. on Friday and Saturday. The event allows families and car enthusiasts to explore vehicles without sales pressure. Additionally, the Valley Auto Dealers Association, as per 12 News, supports the community by donating vehicles to charities that help children.
