The Portland Police Bureau maintained a watchful presence during protest activities in the South Waterfront area on Sunday, with no arrests reported. An Incident Command Team supervised by a Crowd Management Incident Commander coordinated resources including the Rapid Response Team and Dialogue Liaison Officers, who served as communication intermediaries, as reported by the City of Portland.
According to the City of Portland, assistance from Oregon State Police and Portland Fire & Rescue helped ensure the event remained peaceful. “PPB members did not observe any person or property crimes that warranted interdiction,” the Bureau stated, though total arrests from recent nightly protests have reached 63.
The Portland Police Bureau stated that it follows Directive 810.10 on immigration enforcement and remains focused on public safety and state laws. “PPB will continue to monitor protest activity,” the bureau said, noting that it may investigate and file charges if needed with the Multnomah County District Attorney. The Portland Police Bureau shares updates on its official X page and provides information about its Public Order teams, the Chief’s community letter, and immigration FAQs on its website, as mentioned by the City of Portland.
