The Town of Queen Creek is preparing to observe the Thanksgiving holiday with a scheduled closure of its town offices on Thursday, Nov. 27, as per an official announcement. Essential services such as public safety and emergency services will remain operational, ensuring no disruption for residents in need of immediate assistance. The Town has notified citizens requiring support for water, sewer, or streets emergencies during this time to call 480-358-3131 for help.
Adjustments to waste management during the holiday were detailed, advising Zone 4 residents they will need to prepare to set their trash and recycling carts out by 6 a.m. on the following day, Friday, Nov. 28. Bulk trash pickups can also be scheduled online, with a reminder that items should be placed curbside by 6 a.m. of the collection day to ensure service between the hours of 6 a.m. and 6 p.m. For those instances where collections are missed, the town requests residents to leave their bulk items at the curb and wait 48 hours before submitting an online missed pick-up request, a statement from the town's news release specifies.
The usual business hours for town services, from 7 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Monday through Thursday, will be on hold due to the holiday, with online services accessible throughout the closure at QueenCreekAZ.gov. Furthermore, recreational facilities, including the Queen Creek Recreation & Aquatic Center and Recreation Annex, will also be closed on Thursday, Nov. 27. Additional information on the town's recreational offerings can be found through the town's recreation page.
Residents are encouraged to utilize the town's cooking oil recycling program over the holiday, which converts contributed oil into biodiesel fuel. Collection containers are available year-round at two designated locations, a measure that reflects the town’s commitment to sustainability. To promote a safe Thanksgiving, cooking tips are made accessible by the Queen Creek Fire & Medical Department on its website. These efforts, combined with the town's dedication to keep the residents informed on safety protocols, are part of the wider conversation about community well-being, which includes staying updated via their social media platforms such as Facebook.com/QueenCreek and X.com/TownofQC. Non-emergency issues can conveniently be reported through the town's SeeClickFix service, allowing community members to easily communicate concerns.
